FOCUS SCRIPTURE: PSALM 139:13-18
So many times, as women, we try to ignore the parts of ourselves we don’t like—the insecurities, the disappointments, and the painful experiences we wish never happened. We push them aside, hoping they’ll disappear with time. Some of us sweep them under the rug, pretending they no longer exist.
But what happens when you’ve swept so much under the rug that you can’t even walk on it anymore?
What was once smooth becomes uneven—lumpy, overwhelming, and impossible to ignore.
Let me be clear: it doesn’t go away.
Avoiding it doesn’t heal it. Ignoring it doesn’t fix it. Hiding it doesn’t erase it.
So what do you do?
You embrace it.
To embrace means to hold tightly, like a hug. It also means to accept something willingly and to include it as part of a whole.
Have you embraced yourself lately?
Not just the polished, presentable parts—but the raw, unfinished, and healing parts too?
Because if we’re honest, we all have something we struggle to accept.
“I’m too skinny.” “I’m too big.” “My hair isn’t pretty enough.” “I don’t look like her.”
But what does God say?
He reminds us in His Word that we are intentionally created, deeply known, and fully seen.
You are not a mistake.
You are not an afterthought.
You are not forgotten.
God didn’t mess up when He made you.
Life may have brought pain, disappointment, and moments that changed you—but even those things are not wasted. They are being woven into something meaningful.
So instead of hiding parts of your story, begin to embrace them.
Embrace your looks.
Embrace your disappointments.
Embrace the heartbreak.
Embrace your journey.
Because everything you go through is shaping you.
It’s a lesson.
It’s a blessing.
It’s a testimony.
And healing begins the moment you stop running and start embracing.
R.E.S.T. Moment
Release the pressure to be anyone other than who God created you to be.
Exhale comparison, insecurity, and self-criticism.
Sit with the truth that you are already known and intentionally made.
Trust that every part of your life is being used for purpose—even the parts you’re still learning to embrace.
Journaling Prompt:
What parts of yourself have you been resisting or trying to change? What would it look like to begin accepting and embracing those areas with grace?
CLOSING PRAYER:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for creating me with intention and care. Your Word reminds me that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, yet there are times when I struggle to believe it. Today, I come before You asking for the strength to see myself the way You see me.
Help me to embrace every part of who I am—the parts I celebrate and the parts I try to hide. Teach me to release comparison, insecurity, and self-doubt, and replace them with confidence rooted in Your truth. Remind me that You did not make a mistake when You created me.
Lord, give me the courage to face my past, my pain, and my imperfections, knowing that You can use every piece for my good. Help me to stop running from the things that hurt and instead allow You to heal me through them.
Teach me to walk in acceptance, to extend grace to myself, and to rest in the beauty of who I am becoming. Let my life be a testimony of Your love, Your restoration, and Your purpose.
Today, I choose to embrace myself—fully and freely—because I trust the One who created me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Needed to hear this. Thanks
