Pressing into Faith when it feels hard

Scripture Focus: Mark 5:25–34
It’s easy to say, “All you need is faith the size of a mustard seed.” But what happens when even that feels like too much?
What happens when the thing you once believed God for didn’t happen? When disappointment has visited you more than breakthrough? When your faith feels… tired?
Today, let’s sit for a moment on the couch of the woman with the issue of blood.
For twelve years, she suffered—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She tried everything. She spent everything. And still, nothing changed. In fact, things only got worse.
I imagine her thoughts weren’t that different from ours: “Maybe this will work…”“Maybe this time will be different…”“Maybe I’ll finally get relief…”
But relief never came—until she heard about Jesus.
And something in her shifted.
Her faith may not have been loud or perfect, but it was willing. Willing to try again. Willing to believe again. Willing to press.
So she made a decision: “I won’t let anything stop me from getting to Him.”
Through the crowd, through the doubt, through the fear—she pressed her way forward. And with one touch, everything changed.
She was healed instantly.
And not just healed—restored.
R.E.S.T. Moment
Today, release the pressure to have perfect faith.
You don’t need a performance—just a posture.
Even if your faith feels small, fragile, or tired…choose to press anyway.
Because sometimes, the breakthrough isn’t in having strong faith—it’s in simply reaching for Jesus after everything else has failed.
Journaling Prompt
What area of your life feels hardest to have faith in right now? What would it look like for you to “press” toward Jesus in that area today?
Closing Prayer
Lord, You see every place in me where my faith feels weak, tired, or even nonexistent. You know the disappointments I’ve carried and the prayers that feel unanswered.
But today, I choose to come to You anyway.
Even if my faith is small…Even if my heart is weary…Even if I don’t have all the answers…
I will press.
Give me the strength to reach for You when everything in me wants to give up. Help me to trust You again, even after disappointment. Remind me that You are still able, still present, and still working.
Just like the woman who reached for You, I believe that one touch can change everything.
Restore my hope. Renew my faith. And lead me into Your rest.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
